I Underestimated This Trail in Arizona's Forgotten Mountains

Few people spend the night in the Goldfields, favoring their highly popular neighbor the Superstition Mountains. In fact when I called the ranger to ask about this trail he said he'd never heard of anyone spending the night out there. Of course this intrigued me so I set off for two days of wild hiking in this overlooked section of the Arizona desert. This is a brutal trail, and for most of the loop I attempted there is no trail at all! The difficulty of bushwhacking and navigating through this wild desert meant that night set in before I could find camp, forcing me to search for a spot to set up my tent in the dark...
