Last steam on the Underground - Met 1 and Sarah Siddons
The weekend of 22 /23rd June 2019 marked the end of steam on london's underground rail network. Due to signalling upgrades, steam locomotives are no longer able to run on the Underground post 2019, so this weekend marked the last of over 150 years of steam operation. To mark 150 years of the District line, Met No. 1 of 1898 hauled Bluebell railway Chesham Coaches, District Railway Coach No.100, Met Jubilee Coach 353 and electric locomotive No. 12 Sarah Siddons for 3 return trips between Ealing Broadway and High St Kensington.
