Cole Wehrle & History
Over the last few years, Cole Wehrle has had a massive impact on the board gaming world by designing simultaneously highly successful and ambitious games. If most players know him in 2018 with the release of Root, wargamers started to pay attention to this young designer when the first edition of Pax Pamir was released three years prior. If Cole Wehrle's designs are not wargames per se, they are thought-provoking conflict simulations, whether historical or not. And in all those games, there seems to be an underlying theme: history and how politics shape it. This interview will discuss his design career and the depiction of history through game design.
