Heat expands the surface. Rainwater infiltrates. The weight repeats itself. And that smooth surface gradually becomes a mosaic of wear and tear. Then the machines return. Cones on the road. Detours. Traffic stopped. Milling, resurfacing, pothole patching. The highway is repaired, reopened… and the cycle begins again.
