The final day of the two-day Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)'s Nationwide Voter Registration Weekend is underway, with voting stations open across the country. The IEC says the two-day drive is aimed at strengthening participation in the electoral process, and is particularly encouraging young and first-time voters to ensure they are correctly captured on the voters' roll Voting stations have been open since 8 am this morning and will remain open until 5pm this evening, marking the last opportunity for citizens to take part in the electoral process.
