The VPA (Vineyard Pilot Assistant) or Assisted Driving in the Vineyard is a self-positioning system of the accessories equipped on the tractor. The tractor driver can therefore remain focused only on driving while the system manages the positioning of the equipment (height and width) during processing. All adjustments are managed through a display in the cabin. Once these are set, the driver just has to enter the vineyard and the machine will position itself at the chosen distance (also to enter and exit the row). In fact, when entering the row, the machine “reads” the vines and then goes into the working position (it widens and lowers) while exiting the row it no longer “reads” the vines and then returns to its rest position (it rises and closes). The system consists of a front-mounted laser scanner that “reads” the vines and the presence of grass, and a sensor mounted in the center of the tractor. The collected data is forwarded to the processing unit which determines in real time the position of the vines and poles based on that of the tractor, also considering forward speed and slope, terrain conformation. An additional high-performance oil distributor allows you to carry out all the movements of the equipment in an extremely precise and reactive way.
