Sol Plaatje Municipality | Water infrastructure upgrades between Kimberley and Riverton to commence

In 2023 National Treasury approved a fund of 2.4 billion-Rand that will be released in trances for the next seven years to deal with the water challenges that have been faced by Kimberley and Ritchie residents for the past decade. The Budget Facility for Infrastructure project that was rolled out from 2024 will this week reach a milestone with official launch of the project and the arrival of the first batch of the pipeline that will be laid from Riverton to Kimberley - 30 kilometre stretch. Residents have in the past suffered spells of water shutdowns with municipality trying to repair the ailing pipeline.
