Medicaid Funding Is Up. So Why Are Democrats Warning of Cuts?

The discussion centered on two competing questions: If federal funding is increasing today, why is the administration focused on future reductions? And if New Jersey knows new federal requirements are coming, shouldn't the state be working now to help eligible residents comply and keep their coverage? Rumpf argued that reducing New Jersey's Medicaid error rate and educating recipients about new eligibility requirements could help protect both coverage and federal funding.
