Stock Rail Wear Limits: We discuss the criteria for rail renewal, including section loss limits of 6% for 52kg rails and 7% for 60kg rails. Vertical and Lateral Wear: We detail how vertical wear is measured at the center of the rail (limited to 13mm for 60kg and 8mm for 52kg) and lateral wear limits for curved and straight tracks.
