Flight Review THOMSON Boeing 787 Dreamliner Economy Class - Copenhagen to Dominican Republic

This is a full flight review (trip report) of our Thomson Airways (now TUI Airways) Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flight from Copenhagen Airport, Denmark, to Gregorio Luperón International Airport (Puerto Plata) in the Dominican Republic. All footage is filmed from the economy class cabin, also called “Dreamliner Class.” Our aircraft had registration G-TUIA and was named “Living the Dream.” The flight crew was mainly British, with a Scandinavian stewardess also on board. Most passengers were Scandinavian tourists traveling on charter holidays booked via Star Tour (TUI Denmark). TUI operates under different names in other countries: Fritidsresor in Sweden and the UK/Germany as TUI Travel; in the Netherlands, TUI is called ARKE. The trip report begins at Copenhagen Airport (CPH), following our journey from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 where the Thomson Airways check-in desks are located. We show the self check-in counters, baggage drop-off, and the walk through the departures area and duty-free shopping. Outside the windows, you can see a snowstorm and aircraft such as a Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines Boeing 777. After passport control and entering the gate area (C29), we see our Dreamliner covered in snow. The flight was delayed by over an hour due to a water system issue affecting lavatories and beverage service. Boarding begins, and the video shows pushback, taxiing, de-icing, and runway takeoff from Runway 04R. Cabin views highlight the 3-3-3 economy seating, the in-flight entertainment system (touchscreen with movies, TV shows, flight info, and seat controls), galleys, lavatories, and the Dreamliner’s mood lighting and self-dimming windows. Prepaid meals and the complimentary snack box before landing are featured in the footage.
