Das CAMPO IMPERATORE, der absolute Wahnsinn | Abruzzen | Little Tibet | Sulmona | Italien

How about a little more Abruzzo? We're off to the Hotel Campo Imperatore, where Mussolini was interned in 1943 until his liberation by the Germans during Operation Oak. The Ostello next door not only offers cappuccino but also a small museum of the old cable car, which doubles as a unique seating area. We find a lovely spot for the night at Campo Imperatore, are joined by Heike and Armin, and enjoy a wonderful barbecue together amidst the stunning natural surroundings. We then slowly leave Abruzzo and, following in the footsteps of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, head to Sulmona for a refueling stop. Sulmona is also known as the "Siena of Abruzzo" and is definitely worth a visit. And then – finally, it's off to the sea! ... Enjoy watching!
