Neurosciences - Cerveau sous hypnose - Mercredi 14 juin 2023, 18h

A Duo Presentation Do you remember the mesmerizing gaze of Kaa the python in The Jungle Book? Far from this fanciful image, medical hypnosis is the subject of numerous scientific studies, for example, to improve the management of chronic or cancer pain, or in anesthesia to control anxiety and pain. Why are researchers interested in it? How does hypnosis affect our brain? Between basic research and clinical applications, this overview explores a technique that is increasingly recognized in the medical field. A duo presentation by: Pierre Rainville, Professor in the Department of Stomatology at the University of Montreal and researcher in the neuropsychology of pain at the Research Centre of the Montreal Geriatric University Institute; David Ogez, clinician-researcher at the Research Centre of Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Montreal. This event is organised with the support of the Quebec Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy.
