Can Art Be Too Simple?
There’s a strange tension in knowing when a painting needs more… and when adding more might actually ruin it. In this video I experimented with how little information a painting can hold while still feeling expressive, balanced and alive. Using collage scraps, intuitive line work and minimal marks, I tried to resist the urge to overwork the surface and instead trust space, restraint and instinct. I also added a few sketchbook “pick me ups” throughout the video — quick bursts of experimentation and process to keep the energy moving. This one is really about uncertainty, editing, and learning to stop before a painting loses its honesty. #abstractart #contemporarypainting #intuitivepainting #artprocess #abstractpainting
