Today I'm enjoying a day in the kitchen, I'm makin' party mix, sweet potato pie, french bread and baked spaghetti! I love this time of year and gettin' to enjoy the kitchen in a different way! Check out our friend over at Sparks Forge! https://www.etsy.com/shop/SparksForge... / @sparksforgeandfarm Recipes from this video Party Mix 4 cups corn chex 4 cups wheat chex 3 cups rice chex 2 cups cheese its (this can be replaced with any other kind of cracker or cereal you want) 3 cups pretzels 1.5 cups salted mixed nuts Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine the above ingredients in a large pan. Make the seasoning. 10 tablespoons melted butter 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp salt 1 1/4 tsp garlic powder 3/4 tsp onion powder 3/4 tsp dried Italian herbs Combine the above ingredients. Poor slowly over snack mixture. Mix as you go, make sure it is mixed very well. Bake for 1.5 hours. Stirring every 30 minutes. Cool and keep in an airtight container. French Bread 1 cup warm water 2 tsp active dry yeast 1 tablespoon white sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tablespoon oil 2.5-3 cups all purpose flour 1 egg beaten In a large bowl combine water, yeast and sugar, let sit until foamy (around 5 min). Mix in salt, oil and 2 cups of flour. Stir until just combined. Add half cup of flour at a time until the dough pulls away from the bowl. On a floured surface knead dough for 5-7 minutes. Oil a clean bowl, place dough ball in bowl, cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for 45min-1 hour or until doubled in size. Flatten dough out into a rectangle, then roll into a log, fold the ends under the log. Cut 4-5 slices across the top of the dough 1-2 inches deep. Let rise for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 20-25 minutes then brush bread with egg wash. Bake an additional 2-3 minutes. Enjoy! Sweet Potato Pie (Self Reliance Magazine 2021) 3 medium sweet potatoes (enough to equal 2 3/4 cups of mashed sweet potatos) 5 tablespoons of butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 1 1/4 tsp nutmeg 2 large eggs 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 1/4 tsp baking powder 3 tablespoons heavy cream Bake sweet potatoes until fork tender, peel and mash. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add softened butter to warm mashed sweet potatoes. Add sugar, nutmeg, eggs, and vanilla, mix well. In a small cup or bowl combine baking powder and heavy cream, mix well. Add to sweet potato mixture, mix until smooth. Pour into frozen pie shell. Bake until pie is slightly browned on top, about 65 minutes. Serve with whipped cream, pecans, or caramel sauce and enjoy!
