The Parterre: Episode 7 – The Crown Jewel | Gardener in Love

Welcome back to The Parterre. What began as an unexpected curve in our retaining wall quickly became one of the most special spaces in the entire garden. Elevated above the parterre and perfectly positioned as its backdrop, this new garden bed needed something equally beautiful to anchor it. In this episode, we walk through the tree options we considered, take a trip to Carolina Conifers, and finally find the perfect fit: a Greensleeves Dogwood. Planting this tree feels like the finishing touch on a space we never planned for—but now can’t imagine the garden without. We’re calling it the crown jewel of The Parterre, and we can’t wait to watch it grow into its place.
