In this video, I'll tell you that the head of the Central Court of Instruction No. 5 of the National Court, Santiago Pedraz, has indicted the Director General of the Civil Guard, Mercedes González, and the Deputy Director of Operations (DAO) of the same force, Manuel Llamas, in the PSOE corruption case. The judge made this decision at the request of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, which sought their indictment for the crimes of malfeasance (Article 404 of the Penal Code) and obstruction of justice (Article 464.1 of the Penal Code). The general in charge of the Civil Guard's Information Headquarters testified before Judge Santiago Pedraz at the National Court that he passed a note to Mercedes González after receiving information about the operation orchestrated by Leire Díez to discredit the Civil Guard's Central Operational Unit (UCO) and Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Balas. The general described this information as "reliable," although he did not reveal his sources because they were "confidential." When González—who had denied knowing Díez—received this information, she had already met with her on three occasions. According to the judge's order, which Libertad Digital has obtained, Pedraz has agreed to summon Mercedes González and Manuel Llamas as defendants on July 16. The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's request comes after that of the private prosecutors, who had already established that a personal and repeated relationship existed between González and Leire Díez, prior to González's appointment, which continued after she took office as director general on September 17, 2024, materializing in at least three in-person meetings and numerous contacts via instant messaging.
