Schlaganfall wieder Laufen lernen

Since walking after a stroke is one of the first major goals, I've described here, by popular request, how I got from a wheelchair to walking and how long it took me (1 year to get a walking aid and about 3 years to walk safely without support). 1. Build core stability through sit-ups and repeatedly sitting on the edge of the bed 2. Stretch your legs using the wheelchair or bed frame, if available 3. Practice getting up and sitting down slowly to build muscle, use a chair back or a secured wheelchair A trick for balance during the first steps: place the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth as if you were saying the letter L. This helps immensely. Please always prioritize safety and practice with physiotherapy and occupational therapy. #stroke
