In today’s video, I’m opening and reviewing Marco Benedetti’s breathtaking restored edition of the Rosenwald Tarot, which is one of the earliest printed tarot decks known to exist, dating back to around 1501 in Perugia, Italy. These surviving woodblock sheets reveal tarot in its earliest printed form, raw and deeply archetypal. Benedetti has faithfully restored the original imagery, carefully recreating the few missing cards, while colouring the deck in striking, vibrant tones that beautifully enhance the delicate woodcut details. Presented in a handcrafted wooden box with exquisite Rivolrini gilded edges, this edition feels like holding a true piece of tarot history.
