Homem morre ao cair de penhasco no RJ após subir em pedra para tirar foto

A man died after falling from a cliff in the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area. He had climbed onto a rock to take a picture. After taking the photo, the man tried to descend facing forward, but he couldn't, and when he tried to turn his body, he lost his balance and fell from a height of 150 meters. A helicopter assisted in the rescue, but he was found already lifeless. Caio Azevedo was with a group hiking in the city of Maricá, in the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area. The area where the accident occurred is very popular for climbing and rappelling, activities that require safety equipment and training. Two weeks ago, a 59-year-old woman died in the region while preparing to rappel. She reportedly lost her balance while applying insect repellent. The location of the last accident is known as "Pedra do Macaco" (Monkey Rock), and is about 230 meters high.
