Syrena 1954 - Radio Restoration, The Speaker Was Full of Holes!
In this video, I restored an old Syrena ZRK tube radio made in 1954. About the restoration process: This project was one of the most challenging I’ve ever worked on because it was my first time restoring such an old radio. I learned a lot about how these types of radios were built and about their extreme complexity. Luckily, there are many people in love with tube radios like this one, and I could find a lot of information and some spare parts. After this, my respect for engineers who build such radios went through the roof. Those people made everything using only their brains and hands! If not for me, this piece would end up in a trash bin, and I am so happy that I could bring it back to working condition. Seeing the tubes glowing again was mesmerising! I also hope you enjoyed my idea of preserving the original look exactly as it was. I truly enjoyed working on this project, and at the end of the video, you can see a full test of how it works. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll get back to you.
