BrightDrop EV Van Road Trip Test (Range, Charging, Reality Check)

We picked up our new BrightDrop EV van and immediately put it to the test and driving it home ~200 mile from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando with essentially no break-in, just 7 miles on the odometer. This video isn’t a spec sheet read-through. It’s a real first drive: real efficiency numbers real range math real charging behavior and a few surprises along the way We expected to need a charge. We mostly didn’t. Along the way we learned: • GM’s range estimates are extremely conservative • The BrightDrop drives far better than a “big brick” should • DC fast charging is currently limited due to transport mode • Efficiency landed around 1.5–1.7 mi/kWh at highway speeds This van is slated for a much bigger project, and this drive was about answering the first question: is it a viable platform?
