『GENKI 1』Lesson 12 (1)┃ ~んです Mode of Explaining Things
There are two distinct ways to make a statement or sentence in Japanese. One way is to simply report the facts as they are observed according to the normal Japanese grammar rule. This is the mode of speech that we have learned so far in previous lessons. In this lesson we will learn a new way: the mode of explaining things with the use of ~んです attached to the end of the sentence. ~んです makes the sentence or the spoken language more natural.
