Hike #179: Nike Hill, Whittier, CA (Regular Version)
Visit Date: 2/4/23. Hiking Nike Hill, Whittier, CA. Sometimes urban hikes are a good option. The hike to Nike Hill (AKA Puente Hills Lookout) via Workman Mill Rd is an example of this. A cool day is recommended, since there is little to no shade. Nike Hill is a former Nike Missile site which makes for a nice hiking destination. I shot a video here earlier when I hiked to it from the east from Hacienda Hills Open Space. This hike is from the west and is a bit shorter than coming from Hacienda Heights to the east. What a great way to wrap up a nice morning of Whittier hiking! Music: "Smooth Sailing (with Guitar)" - Audionautix
