Coring Disaster Turns Into Stunning Bowl!

In this video, I take on a really unique piece—a root ball that I cast in black resin with white highlights. The plan was to core out several small bowls from this blank… but things didn’t go quite as expected. Sometimes in woodturning, even with years of experience, the wood (and resin) have other ideas. The coring process didn’t go as planned, . But that’s part of the journey—learning to adapt, adjust, and still create something you can be proud of. The contrast of the black resin with the natural root structure and white highlights turned out absolutely stunning, and I’m really happy with how this piece came together in the end. 👉 Let me know in the comments—have you ever had a project take an unexpected turn? 📩 If you’re interested in purchasing one of my pieces or have questions, visit Grandpadennis.com ⚠️ Disclaimer: Woodturning can be dangerous.
