A serious traffic accident occurred Monday afternoon in downtown Mar del Plata. A bus belonging to line 532 lost control, mounted the sidewalk, and struck a group of people waiting at a bus stop. The incident took place at the busy intersection of Peralta Ramos Avenue and Buenos Aires Street, an area characterized by dedicated bus lanes and the proximity of a skate park. According to initial reports and eyewitness accounts, the vehicle was traveling at high speed when, presumably due to a mechanical failure, it mounted the median. The impact caused scenes of great tension and desperation among those present. Immediately after the accident, emergency teams and several ambulances were deployed to the coastal area to assist the injured and rescue those trapped under the bus. The injured were rushed to the Interzonal General Hospital of Acute Care (HIGA) for specialized medical attention.
