Re-structuring defenses is essential work in most cases, yet too often this phase of the therapeutic process is inadequate and ineffective. Therapists are either too general and cognitive in their approach to defenses or skip over them and press for feeling with the patient is in a resistant state. In this video we talk about the vital importance of being somewhere specific on the triangle of person and then asking for feeling in order to track anxeity and defense.
