mistakes and failures
How you respond to mistakes and failures has a huge impact on your development over time. Learning to be humble, to acknowledge errors and learn from them, is the key. to improvement Mistakes are inevitable. If we focus on avoding them we can be too cautious. Conversely minimizing or justifying mistakes without looking into their cause will undermine effectiveness. Being open and honest with ourselves and others about our errors is the way to go. A new book, The Right Kind of Wrong, by Amy Edmonson, is all about constructive ways to handle mistakes and failures. I highly recommend it.
