Tuesday, June 23, 2026. I visited the construction site of the renovation of La Roncadora Avenue, located in the Santa Clara area of ​​the Ate district. This is where La Roncadora Avenue and the construction work begin. You can see that the ground has been completely removed. You can also see the drainage manholes protruding from ground level next to a metal base on the ground, which corresponds to the future retaining walls on the right. This entire area has always been just dirt, with only a few sections that had remnants of old, deteriorated asphalt. It's a reality that residents have had to live with for years, and today, finally, its transformation begins. According to official information from the Municipality of Ate, the main work will consist of the complete resurfacing of the entire avenue, along with the construction of sidewalks, retaining walls, and complete signage. In this section, you can see the progress of the concrete retaining walls that divide the two lanes of the road. The walls are much more visible from this side, and they are quite large and tall. As you can see in the photos, the ground is already completely disturbed and undulating due to the machinery. This important public works project is being carried out by the Municipality of Ate, led by Mayor Franco Vidal, as part of the district's road projects. This avenue is approximately 1.3 km long and has a maximum gradient of 12%. This is the final point of the renovation of La Roncadora Avenue, located at 550 meters above sea level in the Santa Clara area of ​​the Ate district. Now, we'll look at the opposite side, where the ground has also been completely cleared for the future stages of the project. The area designated for this avenue appears to be quite wide and spacious. The construction of this new avenue will eliminate the dust and dirt, radically improving traffic flow, safety, and the quality of life for hundreds of families in the upper part of town.
