《吹奏楽》希望へ続く道 /福島弘和　The road to a bright future /Hirokazu Fukushima

《希望へ続く道》 2012年　2014年　吹奏楽　小編成 士気シビックウインドオーケストラ 委嘱作品 士気シビックウインドオーケストラが、東北地方に慰問演奏する際に東北復興祈念特別演奏会委嘱作品として《道〜希望へ〜》として作曲。 その後、2014年に行われた東北吹奏楽指導者講習会の小編成ための委嘱作品の話を頂いた際に《道〜希望へ〜》を完結させたいと思い、編成と構成を変更し《希望へ続く道》として発表した。 道は人生のことをイメージしており、長い旅では良いことが起これば、辛いことも起こる。 天災のように、自分の力ではどうすることも出来ないことに直面することもあるが、その先には輝く星が待っていると信じている。 This work was originally composed in 2012 under the title The Road ~ Toward Hope~, commissioned by Shiki Civic Wind Orchestra for a special concert dedicated to the recovery and reconstruction of the Tōhoku region following the Great East Japan Earthquake. The orchestra performed the work during its goodwill concert tour in Tōhoku. In 2014, I was invited to write a commissioned work for small ensemble to be premiered at the Tōhoku Wind Band Conductors’ Workshop. At that time, I felt a strong desire to bring the original piece to completion. By revising both its instrumentation and overall structure, I presented it as The Road Toward Hope. The “road” in this work symbolizes the journey of life. Along a long journey, moments of happiness are inevitably accompanied by times of hardship. There are occasions—like natural disasters—when we are confronted with circumstances entirely beyond our control.
