Complimentary Color Mixing (Red and Green)
Demonstration of mixing complimentary colors red and green to create neutrals. White and black were added to tint and shade neutral colors. Mixtures were used to paint a small abstract composition of simple forms. Once shapes were painted with red, green, and neutral mixtures, thicker impasto paint was applied and then scratched into to reveal underpainting (Sgrafitto). Dry brush painting was also employed along with charcoal pencil.
