Sheraton Hotel: A Reliable Choice Even in Milan! We'll be reporting on the guest rooms, lounge, and breakfast! ～～～～～～～～～～ ☆★☆Editor's Note★☆★ ～～～～～～～～～～ I actually wanted to choose a hotel closer to the center of Milan, but during the Olympics, prices were skyrocketing everywhere. The Westin Palace, a Marriott property with a very elegant and extremely Italian atmosphere, was a candidate, but unfortunately, it was out of the question. The Milan Marriott Hotel, a little closer to the city center, was also a candidate, but it felt somewhat bland, so I looked around and found the Sheraton Hotel San Siro, which had started lowering its prices soon after the Olympic opening ceremony. Even after staring at Google Maps, I couldn't quite grasp the sense of distance and scale of the city, but my impression after visiting is that the circle of the ring road encompassing Milan Central Station and the Naviglio Canal is roughly the southern half of Tokyo's Yamanote Line. It was surprisingly large. I thought San Siro was fairly close, but I think it's about the same distance as the Loop Route 8 to the Yamanote Line in Tokyo. Also, the public transport system is winding and not a neat radial pattern; the bus and tram lines are intricately intertwined, making it difficult to understand.
