VW Golf MK7 (5G) glasses compartment LED backlight

Adding LED backlight to the glasses compartment in dome light assembly. From factory Volkswagen #GolfMK7 (5G) does not have any lights in compartments making those hard to use by night. My installation is powered though the dome light 6-pin connector and it dims with the dashboard backlight. You need only few tools to disassemble dome light. Just a torx drive and some prying tools. 1. Pry and remove alarm sensors cover and trim around light buttons. 2. Release 4 clips by placing something in the gaps on the sides of the buttons and lights assembly. 3. Remove 4 torx screws (two next to the alarm sensors, two above buttons and lights assembly). 4. Disconnect 6-pin light connector, 2-pin microphone connector, alarm sensor connector. 5. Drill two 6mm-6.5mm holes in the glasses #compartment, install LED holders, insert LEDs with 2.2kOhm resistors. 6. Connect LEDs with 6-pin connector on pin 3 (term58) and pin 4 (GND). Thanks to that you will be able to adjust brightness with dashboard dimmer. 7. Test it and put it back together. ℹ️ If the #LED backlight is too bright compared to the dashboard you can change the resistors or add potentiometer to adjust it manually.
