Sony DXC-M3A and C-38B test

This is a test recording I made using a Sony DXC-M3A three-tube analog video camera and a Sony C-38B large diaphragm FET condenser microphone. Both are vintage from around 1987. I captured the video directly from the camera's composite video out using an Elgato Game Capture HD, and I recorded the audio directly from the microphone using a Tascam DR-40 linear PCM recorder at 16-bits/44kHz. I tweaked the video and audio slightly. The tubes on the camera aren't properly registered now, so I realigned the colors by separating the original capture into three individual RGB layers (ANDed together) and then adjusting the position of each layer until the colors lined up better. It's not perfect, but it looks better than the original capture at least. I did some dynamics processing in Audition to get rid of some noise (although there's a lot remaining in the final cut) and round off some high peaks.
