#443 À Larajasse, la renaissance de la chapelle de la Salette

Just a few days before Easter, the Chapel of La Salette in L’Aubépin is celebrating a true resurrection. After 20 months of a colossal restoration project, this 19th-century gem has been restored to its former glory. The secret to this success? Community involvement! Driven by the Town Hall, some twenty volunteers, led by Rémy Fayolle and Robert Goy, completely renovated the chapel from top to bottom: drainage, masonry, and repainting the statues. During the removal of the old plaster, the volunteers discovered a small treasure: a newspaper from 1884 hidden behind a pillar, a precious record of the building's construction. For Larajasse and its three historic bell towers, this project is much more than just a stone restoration. It's proof that community spirit is still very much alive. The next challenge for our volunteers: the interior of the church in L’Aubépin! Well done to all these unsung heroes who are the foundation of our community.
