#445 À Saint-Genis-Laval, le Secours Populaire fait le plein de solidarité

A week after the Restos du Cœur (a French food bank charity), the mobilization continues. At the Saint-Genis 2 shopping center, volunteers from Secours Populaire (a French charity) appealed to shoppers' generosity to fill their carts with essential goods. "This collection will allow us to have enough stock for a month," explains Patrick Le Meur, the food coordinator. The association supports nearly 500 people in Saint-Genis-Laval and the surrounding towns. Once collected, the donations are taken to 212 Chemin du Grand Revoyet. The old, cramped premises are a thing of the past: the association has moved into its new home in the heart of Champlong. This new Social Solidarity Hub offers rapid and organized food assistance; a solidarity shop open to everyone; and comprehensive support (housing, energy, vacations, culture). For Alain Geoffroy, the committee's general secretary, this place is first and foremost a welcoming space. Here, social connection is as valuable as the items on the shelves. Solidarity is stronger than ever, ensuring no one is left behind. Visit us at 212 Chemin du Grand-Revoyet in Saint-Genis-Laval. Donations will be collected on Mondays (2 pm - 5 pm) and Tuesdays (2 pm - 4 pm).
