GCSE History - American West: U.S. Policy Towards the Plains Indians 1830-51
This online lesson covers early US Government policy towards the Plains Indians from 1830 to 1851, covering territorial cahnges, The Indian Removal Act (1831), Indian Trade and Intercourse Act (1834), Mexican-American War (1848) and the Indian Appropriations Act and first Fort Laramie Treaty (both 1851). The lesson concludes with some exam practice on 'narrative accounts'. The lesson is designed to compliment the Edexcel GCSE History specification on The American West c.1836 to c.1895. Link used in the lesson: 1. A blank, political map of North America for use in two activities. You'll need 2 copies of this, and will have to ignore some (but not all) of the modern state boundaries! https://i.pinimg.com/originals/41/4d/...
