In this video, I'll show you how easy it is to knit a pretty lace pattern in parallel rows, creating a small leaf effect. The pattern creates a very light, summery texture and is perfect for anything you'd like to knit for summer. Since the front and back look elegant, it's also great for scarves or shawls. Just let your imagination run wild with what you want to use the pattern for. You are welcome to copy and print this chart if you want to keep it next to you while knitting or want to refer to it later. CAST-ON | STITCH COUNT For the pattern, you need a stitch count that is divisible by 5. To do this, add 2 edge stitches. (/5 + 2) For example, cast on 20 stitches (divisible by 5) + 2 edge stitches = 22 stitches. If you want to work wider, simply add a number of stitches that is divisible by 5. You only need to add the edge stitches once, regardless of the width. A slip stitch (which I'm working in this video) is a suitable edge stitch. But you can also work any other type of edge stitch. KNITTING CHART The pattern consists of 6 rows (3 pattern rows and 3 wrong side rows) 1st row (RS) - 1 pattern row: sc, * purl 1, k3, p1 *, sc 2nd row (RS): sc, all as it appears, sc 3rd row (RS) - 2nd pattern row: sc, * purl 1, k3, p1 *, sc 4th row (RS): sc, all as it appears, sc 5th row (RS): sc, * purl 1, yo, 3tog, yo, p1 *, sc 6th row (RS): sc, all as it appears, sc (also purl the yarn overs) Repeat rows 1-6 continuously.
