Warangal Museum || Mahesh Chittaboina || Orugallu Zindagi || Warangal Museum Warangal ASI Museum is a museum located in the musical garden complex in Warangal, Telangana, India.[1] It is maintained by Archaeological Survey of India. It has a collection of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain sculptures housed in a single-storey building. The Notable pieces in the garden are a large Nandi and several Saivite sculptures along with the Marble Buddha and Chamunda. It also contains the 11th century Parsvanatha image and Shanmukha or Skanda from the 12th century Veerabhadra image. It also has the collection of ancient coins and pottery shards from the area. It describes the Kakatiya temple sites in the area, including the 13th century temples at Pillalamarri in Nalgonda district. The museum has a collection of sculptures belonging to Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religions. There are many Saiva sculptures including a large Nandi, a marble Buddha, and a Chamunda. It also contains a 11th-century Parsvanatha image, and a 12th-century Veerabhadra image, with Shanmukha or Skanda. It also has a collection of ancient coins and pottery fragments. It describes the Kakatiya temple sites in the region, including the 13th-century temples at Pillamarri in Suryapet district. The museum houses sculptures, Saraswati and Ganapati idols, 300 coins, objects used by the Cholas, Chalakyas and Kakatiyas, cooking utensils, earthenware, a seven-legged serpent standing in a pose, contemporary paintings, bronzes, weapons, sculptures belonging to the Western Chalukyas and Kakatiyas, inscriptions, palm leaf manuscripts, stucco, bidriware, coins, terracotta, chinaware, enamelware, epigraphs, copper plates and grants.[3] The museum's library contains about 3,000 books, including information on the history of the rulers of Warangal.
