At the first available opportunity, we decided to give it a try, armed with rope, harness, and helmet. Our friend Cristiana and Marco, whom I'll be seeing today for the first time, joined us. We set off from the Forte Stavel parking lot, but instead of heading towards the refuge, we took trail 234, which will take us to Passo dei Pozzi at 2,600 meters. From Passo dei Pozzi, we had descended in the video of the loop around the Denza refuge a few years ago, with Emma. Once at the pass, the northeast ridge will be on our right. We reach the sign describing the mountaineering route and get ready. I won't describe every section here, but here's some important information for anyone wanting to try it: Area: Presanella Length: 670 m Exposure: N-E Time: 4 hours Difficulty: IV+ Descent: Normal route Gear: Single rope and quickdraws Protection: Threads, bolts For the descent, from the summit of Pozzi, we descend, rejoining trail 220 to the refuge, which becomes trail 206 to the parking lot.
