SANDF soldier found guilty of teens murder gets 20-year sentence
The Northern Cape High Court has sentenced 50-year-old, Desmond Zwakala to 20 years imprisonment for the murder of Kimberley Boys High learner, Amogelang Assegai. The 19-year-old learner was shot and killed in October 2022 by Zwakala, after he accused Assegai of stealing his son's cellphone. The High Court heard today that Zwakala who was a member of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) resigned after being found guilty on Thursday.
