Long stretches of driving encountering no other vehicles at all. Elevation varies from as high as 4,961 ft (1,512 m) at Towne Pass to as low as 3 ft (1 m) at Stovepipe Wells. For the first 60 seconds or so, the bumpy road leaving Trona seems to confuse the stabilization slightly for unknown reasons, but then it settles down for the rest of the drive.
