In Part 5 of our Caribbean adventure, we explore the stunning and culturally rich island of Martinique. Our full-day tour takes us through tropical landscapes to a traditional rum distillery, before we travel north to the historic town of Saint-Pierre—forever marked by the catastrophic 1902 eruption of Mount Pelée, which tragically destroyed the town and claimed around 29,000 lives. After a reflective look at Martinique’s past, we sail overnight to the lively dual-nation island of Sint Maarten. Here, we hire a quad bike and set off to explore both the Dutch and French sides of the island, stopping at the world-famous Maho Beach to watch aircraft land just inches overhead—an unforgettable thrill! Our Caribbean journey continues in Part 6, where the adventure draws to a close back in beautiful Barbados.
