Bembel und Rückfallweichen auf der Kahlgrundbahn: Kahl–Schöllkrippen [Streckenporträt]

The Kahlgrund Railway is a leisurely affair. It winds its way through the Kahl Valley from the town of the same name to Schöllkrippen, where the line ends after 23 kilometers. For years, the trains on the Kahlgrund Railway were operated by KVG – Kahlgrund Verkehrs-GmbH, which today only maintains the line. In 2009, the Hessische Landesbahn (Hessian State Railway) took over operations, and in 2015, Westfrankenbahn (West Franconia Railway), a subsidiary of the DB (German Federal Railways). The line operates exclusively with Class 642 Siemens Desiro Classic vehicles in various liveries.
