The journey began in 1946 when Berhampore Girls' College was established by Professor Amiya Rao and her husband, B.G. Rao (ICS), the then District Magistrate of Murshidabad. It is one of the oldest government-sponsored women's colleges in the state. Now, in 2025, the college has completed 80 glorious years. Throughout its history, the institution has played a pioneering role in women's education.
