A band of rain is approaching Immensen, but Elise and her team want to harvest the potatoes today. That means they have to work quickly. If it rains, it will be harder for the tractor to drive in the field, and the potato harvester will have to work harder to pull the potatoes out. This year, she says, the potato and onion harvest is "taking its time." The harvest will be good, but the market is bad. Because there are so many potatoes right now, the prices for their customers are low. She drives around in the pickup truck, checking the potato fields and scanning the rain radar on her phone.
