🌆 Rising to the Clouds: Our Ascent to Mount Cheget by Cable Car! 😊Five kilometers from Elbrus lies another popular peak – Cheget (3,769 meters). To reach it, turn off the asphalt road a couple of kilometers before Terskol. ☀It was with the opening of the country's first chairlift on the slope of Cheget that the development of skiing in the Elbrus region began. It opened in 1963. In February, the Winter Spartakiad was held there, and for good reason: the long and steep slope was considered one of the most difficult in the USSR. Skiing there is still considered extreme, so Cheget is more suitable for professionals. 🤓Despite the fact that the cable car opened a long time ago, it still operates in the same condition – which adds to the extreme experience of the ascent. 🏔To reach the summit, tourists and athletes use three lines: single and double chairlifts from Chegetskaya Polyana (2,100 meters) to Cheget-2 station (2,750 meters) and further to Cheget-3, as well as a T-bar lift to 3,070 meters, accessible to skiers and snowboarders. 📍 Where is it? Cheget is a mountain pearl of the Caucasus, located near the Elbrus resort. You can get there from Nalchik or Mineralnye Vody – it's not difficult to organize such a trip. ✨ What's it like to climb up? Imagine the scene: sitting in a convertible chair, the wind blowing in your face, and below you – snow-capped peaks, forests, and tiny houses at the foot. It feels like you're flying above the world like a bird. ☁When you first sit down in the chair, your heart skips a beat – it's quite a climb! But after a couple of minutes, you start enjoying the views around you and photographing every turn of the road. 🤗 You also know that this is where the famous scenes from the films "Seventeen Moments of Spring" and "The Diamond Arm" were created. ⛷ At the Summit Once you reach the top, you understand why people come here again and again. Firstly, the views are simply breathtaking – it seems like the whole world lies beneath your feet! Secondly, a special atmosphere of peace and tranquility reigns here. And of course, the opportunity to ski or snowboard back down adds to the thrill. 🎿 💡 A few tips from me personally: 📌If you're afraid of heights, it's best to go on a sunny day, when you can see all the beauty around you; 📌Bring warm clothes with you, even if it's warm below, it's always cooler above; 📌A camera is a must!
