Transforming Perinatal Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Care - 2026 MMH FORUM

Moderator Dr. Karen Scott from the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE) will guide attendees through a conversation with leading experts on perinatal substance use disorders (SUD). Panelists will share lived-experience perspectives, highlight statewide SUD and maternal mental health screening implementation in Kansas, the West Virginia Perinatal Partnership’s Drug Free Moms and Babies program, including technology-enabled integration of substance use disorder treatment in obstetrics. The panel will also feature New Jersey-based Camden Coalition and its pioneering work addressing perinatal SUD. Together, the panel will explore practical, compassionate approaches to improving identification, reducing stigma, and strengthening care for pregnant and postpartum individuals with SUD.
