Northern crusades | The rise of Denmark

What was Denmark’s role in the Northern Crusades and what impact did the Danes have on medieval history? The Danish conquests against the remaining pagan powers in northern Europe is an important, yet often unknown part of the history of the northern crusades. This part in danish history is where Denmark, in just a couple generations, was transformed from a disorganized backwater plagued by civil war to a major medieval great power in northern Europe. Outside of covering the danish wars against the wends, we're also going to cover Denmark’s wars with the duchy of Pomerania as well as the fall of the duchy of Saxony.
