Riding the Rails at a 74-Year-Old Steam Club
We’re heading to Southwick, Massachusetts, for the annual Father’s Day weekend meet at the Pioneer Valley Live Steamers! Celebrating 74 years, this is one of the oldest live steam clubs in North America and a personal favorite of mine. In this video, we take a loop around the track—including a run down the Valley Line—operating a Plum Cove Studios generic electric locomotive. Beyond the trains, we dive into the best part of these meets: the community. From technical chats and exchanging ideas to the occasional "shove of shame" when an engine fails, it’s all part of the live steam experience.
