WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY: Kitting Out a Wespe With Accessories. MG34, MP40, Fire Extinguisher mounts

This week on Workshop Wednesday, Daryl kits out the Wespe's shields with all the accessories that would have been fitted when this vehicle was in service. Fire extinguisher, MG34 mount, ammo box, MP40 mount, and a modified post-war flare pistol ammo box all go on the right shield before attention turns to the left side. Non-original fixtures are stripped off and replaced with the correct parts, with careful reference to how the original configuration should look. It's the details that separate a restored vehicle from a museum piece, and Daryl's precision work on getting every bracket, mount and fixture in the right place is a masterclass in doing it properly. The Wespe (German for "Wasp") was a self-propelled artillery piece built on the Panzer II chassis and armed with a 105mm leFH 18 howitzer, serving on every major front of the Second World War.
